ESDO recently held a preparatory meeting with Syeda Rezwana Hasan, the Advisor of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), to strategize on the effective implementation of Bangladesh’s existing polythene bag ban law. This initiative aims to eliminate the use of polythene bags in markets and super shops across the country. Following the discussion, ESDO submitted a detailed action plan, which the government has already started to implement. This effort underscores Bangladesh’s commitment to leading the fight against plastic pollution globally and locally, reinforcing the country’s stance as a trailblazer in sustainable practices.
