Environment and Social Development Organization – ESDO, has started its journey in 1990 with the polythene bag ban movement and we are the pioneer organization to ban Plastic Bags in Bangladesh. From policy advocacy to both physical and online campaigning, ESDO have been campaigning successfully for many years to educate people about the adverse effect of Single-use plastic items on both our environment and human health for a long time and right now ESDO is emphasizing on Single Use plastic so it can be Ban from Bangladesh. With that purpose, ESDO has drafted roadmap which shows how we can phase out single use plastic from our country strategically. 

To share the draft roadmap and to create a sub-regional network to beat plastic pollution crisis combinedly, ESDO organized a Sub-regional Campaign on Ban Single-use Plastic on 29th September, 2021 through online platform Zoom.

Representations from sub regional country such as India, Pakistan. Nepal, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Indonesia were present at the event. The representative we very enthusiastic and provided their valuable recommendations in both Bangladesh and their respective country’s perspective.
