On June 11, 2024, ESDO celebrated the successful transformation of campuses into plastic-free zones as part of the Plastic Free Campus project. This incredible achievement was a testament to the commitment and perseverance of the ESDO team and the remarkable students of Rangpur Zilla School, Rangpur Govt. Girls School, and Govt. Coronation Secondary Girls’ School. To honor and celebrate their journey and accomplishments, these three schools, in collaboration with ESDO, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, the Department of Environment (DoE), and Mutual Trust Bank PLC, hosted a special event.
During the event, students showcased their impressive 3D models, which highlighted various environmental issues and their innovative solutions. These dedicated students were awarded for their hard work in making their campuses plastic-free, with support from their teachers and the ESDO team. Each school was honored with a certificate and officially declared plastic-free by ESDO, MoEFCC, DHSE, DoE, and Mutual Trust Bank.
A special thank you was extended to the distinguished guests: Chief Guest Md. Mobassher Hossain, District Commissioner of Rangpur, and Special Guest Syed Forhad Hossain, Divisional Director of DoE, as well as the headmasters, teachers, and the ESDO team for their unwavering support. Congratulations to all the students and schools for their incredible achievements. Let us continue working together towards a greener, plastic-free future.
