Environment and Social Development Organization-ESDO organized a session titled “Break Free from Plastic Campus” with students of Lalmatia Girls High School in Dhaka City on July 21st, 2022 to develop the next generation of environmental leaders and to ensure environmental sustainability practices and apply a zero-waste plastic-free lifestyle among students. An overview of the plastic-free campus movement and the need to adopt a zero-waste lifestyle for a pollution-free environment was covered briefly throughout the workshop, along with group discussions about potential activities for the students. Students participated in various tasks and activities, including an art competition on “Rooftop Gardening”, a poster design on “Plastic-free Campus,” and an essay competition on “The Effects of Plastic on Our City Life.”
ESDO’s Executive Director, Siddika Sultana along with other members of ESDO, joined the session. A representative from the Bangladesh Petrochemical Company Limited (BPCL) also attended the session as a guest.
