To raise awareness about the adverse impacts of SUP and to promote sustainable alternatives to single-use plastic products, ESDO conducted a mobile campaign on 02 March, 2019 in various locations of Dhaka city (TSC, Parliament area, DNCC Market).
The campaign focused on the impact of single-use plastics, highlighting sustainable, available and affordable alternatives that form the key to tackling the problem. The campaign shines a spotlight on different categories of single-use plastic items, including plastic cutleries, cotton buds, carrier bags, coffee cups, straws, lollipop sticks, polythene wrappers, and plastic bottles etc.
The campaign was successful in raising awareness among the general mass about the harmful effects of single use plastic, promoting sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics and encouraging participants to raise their voice in support of banning Single Use Plastic.
